FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
