Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil Included in Wolves Head Coach Contenders

Edwards and O'Neil are two of the early candidates under consideration to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.

The previous coach was sacked on the weekend following the team's 10-match winless start to the Premier League campaign.

And Edwards and O'Neil - each of whom have previous associations to the club - are among the options to be considered by the Wolves ownership.

The manager is presently at Middlesbrough, which would create a potential hurdle to his appointment at Molineux.

However the former Luton head coach - who made more than 100 of games for the club during his playing career - is said to be a strong candidate for the position.

The 42-year-old is said to have backing from the Wolves board as they start the process of appointing a fresh manager.

O'Neil is additionally appearing as a unexpected contender, even though he would be a shock choice given he was released by Wolves in December last year.

The former West Ham United player is out of work which means the club would not be required to pay any buyout fee.
