The President Welcomes Loved Ones of Shot Military Members to White House

President Trump announced on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the White House.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Devastating Event

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their memory.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president told reporters. “And in the same way with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Community Response

Attendees gathered over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist public safety in the capital.

Honoring Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that educators wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a positive energy that inspired people around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Measures and Government Revisions

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of homicide and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The incident led the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and halt providing visas to owners of travel documents.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a resident of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor the governor said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she planned to meet with the family.

Impact of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a law enforcement officer with honor, according to the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had bravery,” Morrisey told the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
