The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in California aged 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The renowned video game developer died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, according to.
