🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Share Displeasure About Sizing Changes Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused items being listed as the wrong size. The popular resale platform has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's garments without notifying all shoppers about the modification. Online Platforms Backlash Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Changes Previously, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Accounts One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
